It's crazy to think Vampire Survivors to have We spent two years taking over our lives Never coming to PlayStation. Developer Poncle is finally fixing that. The roguelite bullet hell sensation is coming to PS4 and PS5 at the end of August.
It's coming to Sony's digital stores on August 29, and all of the game's previous DLC will be available as well. This includes: Legacy of Moon Magic, The Tides of Foscari, Emergency Meetingand April's Weapon Operation which was added Opposite crossover. The base game is $5 and all the DLCs together are an additional $9. There are also all the free updates that add all sorts of other characters and easter eggs.
Why has it taken so long? Poncle, a small indie team, takes its time with ports, working on one console per year. While Microsoft has the ball rolling with an Xbox release shortly after a 2022 PC release, Vampire Survivors came to Nintendo Switch a year later, and a great free mobile release took precedence early on. Poncle attributed the more recent delay to Sony’s shipping process, saying the team I've never put a game on the PlayStation store before.
Meanwhile, Vampire Survivors spawned dozens of valuable clones, imitations, and clever adaptations. Deep Rock Galactic take the formula in the name Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor became a mini-sensation in its own right on Steam earlier this year. Kill the Tower before that, Vampire Survivors It seems to have touched on something archetypal, bringing its blend of mechanics into its own subgenre.
It's nice that PlayStation owners will finally be able to see what all the fuss is about, and I can't wait to spend another hundred hours chasing that Platinum trophy.
