This game plays mostly like you'd expect a roguelike to: you try not to die as you navigate dungeons filled with enemies to fight and treasure to discover, starting your cycle over every time. But here, your movement is to the beat of the music. By moving to the beat, you build up a score multiplier.
To make things even more interesting, enemies also move to the beat. They do so in pre-determined patterns, so watching and learning how each enemy moves becomes an important part of the game. Tomb of the NecroDancer. Dungeon crawling and trying to keep your inputs in sync with the rhythm while fighting erratically moving enemies around you becomes a fast-paced thrill ride. If you like roguelikes, you'll be happy to know that this is a very well-done take on the genre thanks to its strategic audio twist.
