Epic has announced a major change to item exclusivity in the Fortnite Battle Pass.
A blog posted on Wednesday said that any items included in future Fortnite Battle Passes could be available for sale in the Fortnite store 18 or more months after the Battle Pass in question expires.
“These include outfits, back bling, pickaxes, emotes, instruments, decals, wraps, loading screens, banner icons, and more.”
An FAQ stated that it was no longer guaranteed that all items would be available in the shop again after 18 months.
“Shop selection depends on a number of factors and there is no guarantee that a Battle Pass item will be available in the shop after this change goes into effect. If an item in a future Battle Pass will never be available outside of the pass, we'll let you know!”
Epic added: “Part of the reason for this change is that we want players to enjoy Battle Pass content like outfits based on popular licensed characters in the future.”
This move will allow Epic to generate more revenue from skins outside of the Battle Pass, which will remain priced at 950 V-Bucks.
Earlier this summer, Fortnite introduced a new Battle Royale mode with classic weapons and locations.
Titled “Fortnite Reload,” it’s a 40-player mode on a more compact map that includes familiar locations like Tilted Towers and Retail Row.
There are no drivable vehicles as the map is easily traversed on foot and the storm moves faster than normal.
Like Call of Duty Warzone's Resurgence mode, players can use Reload to come back to life as long as one of their squad is still alive.
