The popular poker-themed deck-building roguelike Balatro is getting its “first major gameplay update” next year.
That's according to developer LocalThunk, who also announced “surprises” for Balatro this summer and revealed that the game has reached a new sales milestone.
“The first major gameplay update is coming to Balatro in 2025,” said a thread on X.
“This update brings new ideas and strategies to the game, and as a sign of our deep appreciation to the game’s brilliant and passionate community, the update will be completely free.
“We’re announcing this today as we officially celebrate two million copies sold,” LocalThunk added.
“We have two more surprises this summer, stay tuned for more exciting news!”
VGC's Balatro review called it “the biggest time-waster in gaming since Vampire Survivors.”
