The Sunday Times has announced the 30 richest game developers and gamers in the UK.
The first edition of the Gaming Rich List – a video game version of the long-running Rich List – is topped by Russian-born brothers Igor and Dmitry Bukhman, whose estimated wealth is £12.5 billion.
The couple, who also ranked 27th in the Sunday Times Rich List 2024, are co-founders of Playrix, developers of popular mobile games Township, Fishdom and Homescapes.
While the list is largely dominated by game developers – including notable names such as Grand Theft Auto frontrunner Sam and Dan Houser, who is in fourth place with an estimated fortune of £350 million – on the other side you can also find games retail boss Neil Taylor, who co-founded the store chain.
Other notable names on the list include King co-founder and former CEO Riccardo Zacconi (worth an estimated £410 million), Garry's Mod creator Garry Newman (£335 million), Hello Games co-founder Sean Murray (£94 million) and Rebellion founders Chris and Jason Kingsley (£120 million).
Luca Galante, the developer behind the indie hit “Vampire Survivors”, is also said to have a fortune of £40 million.
Content creators are also featured on the list: “KSI and The Sidemen” is in 21st place with an estimated net worth of £50 million.
Although KSI (real name Olajide Olatunji) co-owns The Sidemen brand with several other YouTubers, the listing appears to cover all of the brand's revenue as a whole, and references their clothing line, their vodka brand, and their restaurant chain.
