The release date for Sid Meier's Civilization VII has apparently leaked ahead of an impending announcement.
According to the ever-reliable dataminer billbil-kun, the next entry in the turn-based strategy series will be released on February 11, 2025.
It will reportedly be available in standard and deluxe editions, which are expected to be announced later on Tuesday.
The first gameplay footage of Civilization VII will be shown during tonight's Gamescom Opening Night Live show, which begins at 11:00 a.m. PT (4:00 p.m. ET) or 7:00 p.m. BST.
Shortly after the end of Opening Night Live, 2K and developer Firaxis will host their own gameplay showcase video on the Firaxis Twitch channel and the official Civilization YouTube channel.
This presentation begins at 1:30 p.m. PT (6:30 p.m. ET) or 9:30 p.m. BST and lasts more than 20 minutes. 2K promises “exclusive insights and in-depth explanations of new features and innovations.”
Players attending Gamescom from August 21-25 will be able to see the game in action at the official Civilization VII booth in Hall 6.
Following a leak, the seventh game in the Civilization series was officially announced at the Summer Game Fest in June.
2K said at the time that Civilization VII would be released in 2025 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One.
