Console Wars, a new card game from gaming outlet Xbox Era, has been announced.
“To win the console war, content is king and the intellectual property of the best games is everything,” says a description of the game.
“To emerge victorious, players must compete for ownership of four complete sets of IP across multiple genres, from action-packed first-person shooters to iconic platformers to deep, complex role-playing games.”
A campaign to fund the game is currently running on Kickstarter and at the time of writing, £15,623 of the £20,000 goal has been reached with just over 300 backers.
The game features parody versions of popular franchises such as “Barrio Bros,” “Phonic,” and “Animal Bossing.”
“To emerge victorious, players must compete for ownership of 4 complete sets of IP spanning multiple genres, from action-packed first-person shooters to iconic platformers to deep, complex RPGs,” the Kickstarter page states.
“During the game, you're trying to gain as many fans as possible. Without them, you have no momentum and probably no platform at all. So retaining fans is crucial to holding on to your valuable gaming franchises.”
The game will be playable at Gamescom 2024 in the card and board games section.
