In a bonus VGC podcast, Jordan Middler and Alex Donaldson of VG247 talk about their hands-on impressions from the preview.
In the podcast, which can be viewed as a video above or listened to via the usual VGC podcast feed, the two discuss the first few hours of the game as well as the changes since the original and subsequent releases.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will be released on September 19th. The remaster uses the RE Engine and includes quality of life improvements such as auto-saving, reworked controls, and an improved user interface.
VGC recently tried out the zombie slash-em-up for themselves. In our written preview, we said: “So far, Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered feels like the oft-mentioned 'definitive' version of a game.
“This is neither inspired by the 2006 game, nor is it a remake in the style of that one – under the hood, it is pretty much the exact same game.”
In addition to changes to the rating system for the game's “erotic” photos, Frank's original voice, provided by voice actor Terence J Rotolo, will also be missing.
Rotolo confirmed last month that he was not asked to reprise the role of Frank for the reboot, saying: “An actor's job is to show up prepared, do your best and then move on to the next mission. I just wasn't called for that mission. The reasons for that are up to the producers.”
