EA Sports FC 24 topped the UK software charts in July, while the PS5 was once again the best-selling console.
Boosted by the 2024 European Championship, sales of EA's football game were 46% higher than FIFA 23 sales in July 2023.
This is according to GSD data published by GamesIndustry.biz, which tracks all physical sales as well as digital sales from most major publishers, with the exception of Nintendo and 505 Games.
Grand Theft Auto 5 also remained unchanged at number 2 in the software charts, while Elden Ring, Hogwarts Legacy and Red Dead Redemption 2 completed the top 5.
Following the release of its latest expansion, Dawntrail, earlier this month, Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn landed at number 6 on the charts in July.
The highest new addition last month was EA Sports College Football 25, which came in at number 7.
Total PC and console game revenue fell 2.9% last month compared to July 2023.
In the hardware sector, monthly console sales fell by 30% compared to the previous year, according to GfK data.
The PS5 maintained its position as the best-selling console, while Nintendo Switch overtook the Xbox Series X/S to take second place.
Sony's console hit four million units sold in the UK last month, a feat achieved 31 weeks slower than the PS4, making the PS5 the fifth fastest-selling console in the UK to date.
In terms of sales, PlayStation Portal was the best-selling accessory last month, followed by the white DualSense controller for the PS5.
