Blaze Entertainment has announced the next generation of its Evercade cartridges.
The Legacy of Kain Collection will include two PS1-era games on a single cartridge – Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver.
The cartridge can be played on all Evercade and Super Pocket devices, including the upcoming Evercade Alpha table arcade machines.
Blaze is working with Crystal Dynamics for the cartridge, which will be released in September along with another cartridge, the Bitmap Brothers Collection 2.
Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain was the first game in the Legacy of Kain series and was a top-down 2D action-adventure game released for PS1 and PC in 1996.
The sequel, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, became a 3D third-person action-adventure game and was released for PS1, Dreamcast and PC in 1999. Three more sequels and spin-offs were released in the PS2 era.
This is the second Evercade cartridge released in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics. The first, Tomb Raider Collection 1, contains the first three Tomb Raider games for PS1.
In May, Blaze Entertainment announced Evercade Alpha, a line of table arcades that have built-in games but can also play Evercade cartridges.
Each case features an 8-inch, high-resolution IPS screen with a 4:3 ratio and is powered via USB-C. Each case comes fully assembled, stands just over 16 inches tall, and each version comes with three interchangeable scrolling fonts that slot into the illuminated scrolling font bar at the top of the case.
