Square Enix, previously approved PC port Final Fantasy 16The latest main entry in the publisher's long-running RPG series is set to release next month, but PC gamers won't have to wait until then to try it out, as Square Enix has released a free demo on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Final Fantasy XVI It was released on PlayStation in June 2023. The RPG returned the popular series to its high fantasy roots, featuring a heartfelt, compelling story and fluid combat. Square Enix announced on August 19th: Final Fantasy XVI It's coming to PC on September 17. The newly announced PC version will cost $50, with a “Complete Edition” that will cost $70 and include both DLC expansions. Echoes of the fallen And Rising Tide. Both PC versions will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store. You can pre-order starting today.
Alongside the new port news, Square Enix has also released a free playable demo Final Fantasy XVI On PC. The demo is the opening section of the game FF16 and will allow players to carry their save data over to the full game. So it looks like the same demo experience PS5 players got last year. And Square Enix also released a snazzy new trailer announcing the game FF16 so is the port.
No official word yet on when or if we'll see it Final Fantasy XVI It's coming to other platforms like Xbox, too. But back in March, Yoshida hinted at more ports after the PC version: “Once the PC version is released, hopefully we'll be looking at porting to other platforms,” the producer said.
