The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power Season 1 left me pretty pumped. As a fan of Tolkien’s fantasy world, I thought it had its moments, but most of it was wasted. Season 2 feels like it’s going to be something else entirely, at least based on the trailers. A second look at the upcoming episodes shows where all the action and drama fans missed the first time around ends up.

On one side, we see big stage battles filled with orcs and fireballs, and on the other, we see an emotional descent into apparition from Charles Edwards' Celebrimbor. Events end with Galadriel directly confronting Sauron, with her crown in the middle.
For a long time Lord of the Rings Fans will notice all sorts of references to the Eagles, Balrogs, and Palantírs, which would become important plot devices later in Peter Jackson's trilogy. The trailer also shows the dark elf and orc leader Adar teaming up with Galadriel, as well as heralding the Eye of Sauron, which would rule the yet-to-exist land of Mordor in later ages.
