2K and Firaxis have announced that Game of Thrones and Star Wars star Gwendoline Christie will be the in-game narrator for Civilization VII.
As the official narrator of Sid Meier's Civilization VII, players will hear Christie's voice as she comments and annotates their decisions in the game.
Christie is known for her role as Captain Phasma in Star Wars and Ser Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones.
Previous narrators of the Civilization series include Sean Bean (Sid Meier's Civilization VI), William Morgan Sheppard (Sid Meier's Civilization V) and Leonard Nimoy (Sid Meier's Civilization IV).
2K and Firaxis gave a first look at Civilization VII at Gamescom.
“Civilization VII draws on over 30 years of franchise heritage and offers a tremendous wealth of gameplay improvements that will delight series veterans and newcomers alike,” says a press release about the game.
The game will be available in a standard and a deluxe edition. The deluxe edition offers five days early access, so buyers can start playing on February 6th.
The Standard Edition costs $69.99 for PS5 and Xbox and $59.99 for Switch, while the Deluxe Edition costs $99.99 for PS5 and Xbox and $89.99 for Switch.
Shortly after the end of Opening Night Live, 2K and developer Firaxis hosted their own gameplay showcase video on Firaxis' Twitch channel and the official Civilization YouTube channel.
Players attending Gamescom from August 21-25 will be able to see the game in action at the official Civilization VII booth in Hall 6.
