Geralt returns in The Witcher 4, but according to the character's voice actor, he will not be the star.
During an interview, Doug Cockle commented on the fourth game, which is currently being developed by the Polish studio CD Projekt Red.
“The Witcher 4 has been announced. I can't say anything about it,” Cockle said.
“We know Geralt will be part of the game, we just don't know how much. The game won't focus on Geralt, so it's not about him this time. We don't know who it is, I'm excited to find out!”
Cockle also claimed that he had not yet seen a script for the game.
Two-thirds of CD Projekt are currently working on the next game in the Witcher series, codenamed Polaris.
As announced during the publisher's 2023 financial year earnings conference in March 2024, the development team currently consists of 403 employees.

Joint CEO MichaĆ Nowakowski stated at the time that after the release of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, the number of employees working on that game had dropped to just 17, while others were distributed to other projects.
“The Polaris team, on the other hand, has grown to over 400 developers,” said Nowakowski. “This means it has reached its target size for entering the production phase, which is planned for the second half of the year.”
This is an increase from November of last year, when it was announced that nearly 330 developers were working on the project, making it CD Projekt's largest development team at the time.
