Hell Divers 2's first major update, The Climb to Freedomhas dropped and it includes quite a few changes. Among them are the addition of some new enemy types, with the Impaler probably being the scariest of them all. OG Hell Divers players may remember these from the first game, and now they're back and scarier than ever. Here's how to find and deal with this pesky new bug problem we have on our hands.
Where can you find Impalers?
The pickpockets appear to fall into the same class as other major boss-like enemies, meaning you won't be able to see them Until you start missions of difficulty 5 or higher. Also, it goes without saying, but you will only encounter Impalers in Terminid territory, as they are the enemy group that belongs there.
In appearance, they A little like ChargersIt can be a bit overwhelming when you first encounter it. You might expect the fight to be one-sided, and then suddenly an Impaler will unfurl a few tentacles, stab you into the ground, and then try to stab you with them repeatedly. Pretty rude if you ask me, but hey, who am I to judge a bug I'm fighting a never-ending battle with?
How to deal with impalers
Considering their similarities to Chargers, you may already know a way (or two) to kill an Impaler! Almost anything you can use against the former can be used against the latter for similar results. Think of the Impaler as a variation of the Charger rather than an entirely new enemy class. Still annoying, but manageable, especially if this isn't your first rodeo Hell Divers 2's thunder dome.
All of this, if you have something big, Strategies like armor-piercing weapons or Orbital Laser to move around and attack that bad boy. Like everything else in this nature they must do the same. These guys only look scary, but they all fall the same way.
If you don't have anything that can penetrate their armor yet, Impalers To do offer another, riskier way to eliminate themand it's kind of about their tentacles. When they come back up to the surface and bury their tentacles in the ground to pierce you, Those who hammer nails actually pull down their protective masks, revealing their faces as a weak spotWhile it may require some precision and may need to absorb normal bullets, unloading into this spot will eventually take down the Impaler.
In line with the interests of the time, Hell Divers 2 offers very little, there is someone Pack something like a recoilless rifle If you think you will encounter an Impaler, these types of weapons will help you Precision while using precious little ammunitionjust what you'll need if you're taking on tougher missions with waves of scarier bugs coming from every possible direction.
With that in mind, I think you're ready to face your first Impaler. Hell Divers 2. Just, you know, watch out for the giant tentacles and you should be fine. I believe in you, but more importantly I believe in your big lasers and guns to get the job done.
