As difficult as it may sound, the additional goal of the stage is to defeat it in under three minutes. My first successful run in this fight took me 12 minutes, so I understand how difficult the idea of clearing it in under three minutes may seem. I will go over strategies for defeating this ugly bug and how to do it quickly for those looking to complete the challenging goal.
Prepare with the right villagers
Mukadejoro is a unique boss in that it prioritizes you specifically. This would usually make it easier to keep the villagers and Yoshiro safe, but the beast's size and the ground it covers with its attacks means they're in danger as long as you're nearby. Any direct damage they take will be immense, and the time spent healing them individually is too valuable to waste. That's why I recommend assigning ranged roles to all villagers.
Luckily, archers are more than adequate for this job, but they are more effective if you upgrade them as much as possible. You will need to keep their attack range in mind and do your best to keep Mukadejoro within that range.
Use the flashlights to your advantage
The previous stage introduced the lantern mechanic, and it's present here as well. Villagers won't attack enemies that aren't lit by lanterns or Soh. Additionally, Mukadejoro's weak points will appear as disgusting writhing hunks of flesh when close to a light. If it's not close enough, the next best option is to focus attacks on its mouth.
If you’re having trouble fighting, it’s worth going to each lantern. Lighting each one will light up the entire cave, revealing all of the armored monster’s weaknesses at once. This creepy creature will look awful, but you couldn’t ask for a better chance to get on the offensive.
Before you start a boss fight, position your villagers to stand next to them. You need to be physically near a lantern before you can ask a villager to light it. Having them there will save time and get you started on the right foot.
Keep the right distance to defeat Mukadejoro
The key to winning is keeping your distance and knowing your surroundings. Yoshiro's safety is the sole determining factor in game endings. Kunitsu-Gami: The Way of the Goddessand understand how easily enemies can reach him critical clue to follow. This boss fight will require you to be extra careful because of how extensive his attacks are. While Mukadejoro will specifically try to kill you, he can also deal major collateral damage to Yoshiro and your villagers.

You need to be far enough away that the monster can't hurt anyone, while still staying within range of your Archers. It's hard to maintain this balance when you're trying to get as many hits in as possible, so it helps a lot to fully upgrade your Archers (and therefore their range).
An important point to note is that, How to deal with the boss's frequently used unblockable attack. It's a tracking charge that moves faster than you and lasts deceptively long. Like other enemies, you'll know it's coming when a giant symbol appears over the monster's head.
The best way to prevent this is to get out of the way and stay close to its body. You'll want to squeeze the large bug into its lower half to give yourself enough space. Be careful not to touch any part of its body as you'll take damage during this attack.
If that doesn't work, here's another method you can try: directing it towards the inner wallThe attack tracking can be finicky near walls and can sometimes waste extra time on the way down. Once it runs out of charge, start slashing, focusing on the weak points that appear. Rinse and repeat to whittle down the boss's health and get you out of this cave.
How do you beat Mukadejoro in three minutes?
Most of the strategy above can be applied to defeating Mukadejoro quickly, albeit with some significant modifications. Here are some additional tips if you're having trouble clearing it in under three minutes.
- Consider Not Lighting Every Lantern – It's a waste of time to run to each lantern and tell a villager to light it. Mukadejoro will eventually blow them all out in one go if they're already lit. Ignoring a few and keeping the boss close enough for your villagers to attack is a viable strategy if you haven't progressed too far in the game.
- Return After Unlocking Soh Upgrades – Since I was able to upgrade Soh, I've been able to consistently defeat Mukadejoro in three minutes. Having multiple Tsuba Guards and access to moves that drain your resistance gauge makes this much easier.
- Try Other Villagers – Archers should still be your best bet, but there are other villager roles you can try. A team of fully upgraded Marksmen can do some solid damage at a pretty good rate. If you're feeling particularly bold and can do most of the damage, you can also win with a team of fully upgraded Ascetics.
Defeat Mukadejoro in under three minutes and you'll earn a Mazo Talisman called Demon Squadron. Equipping this will reduce the time it takes for villagers to clear obstacles and repair bridges. While it is quite specific in use, it is useful for most of the later stages. Kunitsu-Gami: The Way of the Goddess.
