Masters of Albion, a new game from Peter Molyneux, was revealed during Opening Night Live.
The game is being developed by former Fable developers as well as former Media Molecule boss Mark Healey, according to Molyneux, and will be entirely self-funded. The game's announcement trailer can be viewed below. A release date was not given.
The game, which Molyneux says incorporates elements from all of his previous work, is described as an “open-world god game.”
“Navigate through intrigue and schemes,” the game's Steam page says. “Kings come and go, lords shake your hand and then stab you in the back, and people toil like dogs and are treated no better.”
“Armed with godlike, ancient powers, you face an enemy the likes of which have not been seen for hundreds of years. Magic is returning to the hills and halls of Albion, threatening to tear down the foundations of society. Uncover the secret of the mages, defeat the enemy that lurks in the night, and defeat a sorcery that could kill us all.”
Speaking during Gamescom's opening night on Tuesday, Molyneux said Maters of Albion was the developer's “homecoming” after a period of focusing on mobile games.
“After playing around on the phone – what the hell was I doing? – I thought I need to get home to PC and console. So I looked at Dungeon Keeper… I took some things from Black & White, I did the same with Fable, and that's what I'm showing tonight.”
