John Wick TV Series Announced, Does Not Star John Wick

Entertainment studio Lionsgate has launched a massive John Wick franchise by producing a second TV series that continues directly from the end of the series John Wick 4. Deadline reports The ridiculous, long-running fight scene will also make its way to smaller screens John Wick: Under the High Table.

With the first installment being produced by the film's lead star Keanu Reeves and directed by Chad Stahelski, who directed all four films, they certainly bring some star power. However, Reeves has reportedly only signed on for a producing role, not an acting role.

I tried to follow the endless adventures of 2023 John Wick 4 twice, the big news for me here is that it has an ending. I loved the first three movies, even though I had no idea what was going on, but my God, I didn't watch it to watch the slow, slow dialogue. Still, it has to have an ending, because this TV series will continue the story after Wick's involvement with the elite gang of crime bosses, the High Table, and a sort of reset on the entire assassin organization regime. And, if you've seen it, you know the other big problem.

It looks like the old guard will be trying to reclaim the High Table for themselves, while a bunch of newcomers will be stepping in and trying to shape things to their liking, creating some vital internal turmoil. However, it won't involve John Wick.

This will be the second television broadcast not to feature the series' main character; the first was a three-episode limited series The Continental: From the World of John Wickairing on Peacock in 2023. However, that at least hinted at its tangential nature.John Wick: Under the High Table” is clearly asking us to accept that the character's name is now a franchise name similar to “Lego,” but it's hard to imagine many people reading it that way.

And this is just a fraction of what's to come. John Wick– It turned out to be relevant. The fifth main film is currently in pre-production, while a spin-off starring Len Wiseman, John Wick Presents: Ballerina It will be released in June 2025. There is also another movie in the early stages that will continue the events shown. John Wick 4's post-credits scene focuses on Donnie Yen's character Caine. Oh, and there's already a Ballerina continue. Nice sauce.

Top three for those who don't follow John Wick the movies are about a guy whose puppy is killed, sending him on a 364-minute killing spree. Then the fourth movie is about a guy falling down a stairwell, sort of. Hopefully the new TV show remembers to keep the talking to a minimum and the fighting to a maximum. No word on a network yet, but Lionsgate owning Starz might be relevant.
