Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas is getting bigger and more expensive Lego It's September, just in time for Labor Day, the spookiest holiday around. And I guess you could even celebrate Halloween with a new Disney Lego set if you wanted.
The original 1993 film sees Jack Skellington, the leader of a Halloween-themed world, grow tired of his existence and status as the Pumpkin King. He then discovers a world dedicated to Christmas and attempts to take over the holiday, leading to disaster and hijacking. Now, you can recreate some of the famous moments from this popular film using a few thousand plastic bricks.
Lego and Disney announced on August 13 large 2,193 piece NThe Nightmare Before ChristmasSet featuring three areas from the hit '90s stop-motion animated film, including the iconic Spiral Hill and Town Hall. The LEGO Ideas set also includes eight character minifigures from the film: Jack Skellington, Sally, Santa Claus, Lock, Shock, Barrel, Zero and a 2-faced buildable figure that recreates the Mayor.
This all sounds great, and images of the full set on Lego's website make it look like something great to build and put on your desk or mantel during the spooky month of October. But all this spooky fun doesn't come cheap.
New The Nightmare Before Christmas The set is coming It will be available on September 6th and will cost $200Oh my! Yes, I think the set looks great and all the minifigures are nice, but this price seems way too high for what's included. Lego I really needed to add another minifig like Oogie-Boogie or another area from the movie. Or both. It looks like a $150 set as is. At least it's cheaper than Zelda.
While I am excited to purchase and build this new Lego set, I am also a huge fan of the Disney movie it is based on and a huge Halloween lover. I will be waiting for the sale to pick up this new set when it goes on sale next month.
