Springloaded, the developer behind “Let's Build a Zoo”, has presented its next project: “Let's Build a Dungeon”.
The game is a “multi-layered management simulation” in which players not only run a development studio but also manage the creation of an MMORPG.
Players first recruit and manage development staff, including artists, programmers, and planners, to create new assets and game mechanics.
Development schedules, promotional campaigns and press relations must be managed, and decisions must be made regarding game delays and sacrificing the original vision for the sake of fan requests.
Players can also develop the games themselves and create quests, towns, monsters and dungeons to attract more “players”. They can then banish troublemakers in the game and thus keep the gaming community positive.
In addition to the management simulation aspect, Let's Build a Dungeon also includes a creative mode, which is an open sandbox.
Here, players can create their own role-playing games and freely decide whether they want to write their own stories, create dialogues and cutscenes, draw their own characters, or customize the game mechanics.
They can then play their game, share it online, or play other players' games through an integrated game browser.
Let's Build a Dungeon will be released for PC and Xbox. The game is now wishlistable on Steam, and developer Springloaded is inviting players to sign up on the game's website to participate in a beta once it's ready.
More information about the game will be revealed during the Xbox livestream at Gamescom on August 21st.
