Collector cups have a long history when it comes to McDonald's Happy Meal gifts, but none are more infamous More than the 2010 Shrek recallCompany forced to recall 12 million glass cups Shrek Forever The new Shrek glass won’t have that problem after the painted images of the ogre and his friends were found to contain trace amounts of cadmium, but the jury is still out on how many microplastics are in each soda.
Luckily, the cups are more for display purposes, and I'm as fond of colorful, commercial nostalgia as anyone. Less fortunately, McDonald's Happy Meals are more expensive than ever. A recent study found that the prices of some items, from McGriddles to Big Macs, have has increased by over 40 percent since the pandemicThe company is fighting against the perception that its “value” menu is overpriced We started a $5 meal during the summer.
We'll see if the collector's cup campaign can bring back memories of the craze that is Happy Meals in 2021. It came with special edition Pokémon cards for a short timeNow I have a collector's cup to gobble up some McNuggets for.
