There are a ton of great Netflix anime coming out this fall, and many of them have leaked early. Screenshots, blurry clips, and in some cases, entire episodes have been released online early, leading fans to worry about spoilers and call on the streaming platform to release the series early. Days later, Netflix finally acknowledged the breach, but it doesn’t look like the anime will be changing its fall release schedule at all.
“One of our post-production partners was compromised and unfortunately footage from several of our productions was leaked online,” a Netflix spokesperson said. It has been said IGN just days after the leaks began. “Our team is moving aggressively to remove it.”
Removing leaked content is one thing, but combating online spoilers in YouTube thumbnails or TikTok videos that social media algorithms hit fans with is another. Accordingly IGNThe list of affected shows is quite long and includes: Terminator Zero, Heart stopper Season 3, Ranma ½, Re: Zero Season 3, From Danda, Bewitched, Mysterious Season 2 and Plankton: The MovieA SpongeBob SquarePants spin off.
Mysterious, League of Legends The adaptation, which depicts the technologically-fueled class warfare between the utopian city of Piltover and its surrounding areas, has been particularly hard hit. Next season will be the last but it won't start airing until November. In the meantime, five episodes of the steampunk action series have leaked online, and some fans have taken the leap and watched them, despite the poor quality and internal production watermarks.
Places like Mysterious The subreddit was forced to go on high alert by banning posts and comments containing spoilers for the upcoming season, but it wasn't enough. “This subreddit isn't safe either,” one fan wrote wrote today. “Pay attention to the comments. I hope this isn’t a spoiler and it’s just some pathetic troll but be extremely careful. I suggest you don’t scroll all the way to the bottom of the comments and don’t tap to see the downvotes.”
Fans of other shows Ranma ½ And Heart stopper disappointed by the leaks, urging others to stop posting links to clips or full episodes, out of respect for both each other and the creators of the shows. “It took hours to animate even just a 1-3 second clip,” He tweeted “If animators can endure for hours to make an episode, I hope anime fans can also patiently wait for it to air in the best quality.” one person.
But some still continue to be interested in leaks. From DandaThe upcoming anime adaptation of a Shōnen manga about high school kids using secret powers to fight aliens and fall in love has gone through a full cycle of controversy over its polarizing entry, which won't be released until October. From Danda “It's crazy that it's out before it's even released.” wrote a fan. “Stay away.”
