Techland Reveals First Look at Next Game in Gamescom Opening Night Live Stream Dying Light series, subtitled Monster. Started development as a DLC Dying Light 2: Stay Humanbut eventually a new game was spun off into its own title. Owners of the Ultimate edition Dying Light 2 will take Monster free. Otherwise, Dying Light: The Beast will cost you $39.99. Interestingly, the new game continues the original title's protagonist, Kyle Crane, as he embarks on a journey of revenge.
The trailer begins by following a squad of decorated soldiers on the trail of a monster. However, it keeps switching to the perspective of the same monster that lures the soldiers out and hunts them instead. Eventually, the soldiers and the unseen monster come to blows, and predictably, things don't seem to be going well for the unnamed soldiers.
At this point, the trailer shows a man observing a rural area known as Castor Woods through binoculars, and it turns out that this man is actually Kyle Crane from the first film. Kyle's original voice actor, Roger Craig Smith, will be returning to voice him, and said, “Stepping into Kyle Crane's shoes is like reuniting with an old friend.”
After years of experimentation, Kyle's DNA has now been intertwined with that of the zombie threats he fights. He can now use the zombies' abilities against anyone who gets in his way, unleashing “beast-like” power. You know, in case you're still wondering what the beast in the title is.
Described as an “exciting 18+ hour” adventure Dying Light: The Beast It will also feature the return of vehicles introduced in the first game's expansion, as well as a full four-player cooperative multiplayer mode. The followingThe rest Monster's trailer shows off familiar gameplay pieces for those who may have played or watched it before Dying Light In the past. Kyle does a fair mix of stealth gameplay with a bow and arrow, as well as rooftop jumping and wall-running, as has become standard for the parkour-centric series. As always, the game looks incredibly gorgeous, and the trailer does a great job of showcasing the bleak atmosphere.
Although no release date has been given, Techland has assured that there will be news about it later this year. When it does, Dying Light: The Beast It will be available on PC, current-gen consoles, and older-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
