New King Kong Game Announced, We Hope It's Better Than Rise of Kong

Legendary Pictures has announced not one, not four, but three new video games Godzilla and Kong franchise, otherwise known as the Monsterverse. One of these new games apparently focuses on the great ape himself, King Kong. Let's all hope this gets better last King Kong game…

The Monster UniverseA name I only saw in press releases, it started in 2014 GodzillaSince then the series has expanded with a movie that is actually pretty good Kong: Skull Islandseveral fun sequels featuring multiple monsters, and even a TV show on Apple+. And now the Monsterverse is expanding once again, this time into the interactive wonderland that is video games.

On August 15, Legendary Pictures announced plans to release three different games. Godzilla/Kong universe. Now, before you get too excited, know that one of these games is…a good-looking mobile thing. Pre-order now available On Android and iOS.

There will be another game Roblox and will allow fans to “experience” “a unique virtual world where players can interact with the Monsterverse in innovative ways,” according to Legendary's press release. So expect to run around completing crappy minigames while collecting currency to unlock in-game cosmetics and maybe even watch a trailer. Roblox The game will be released later this year.

A new King Kong game will be released later this year

The biggest news of today's announcement is the third game, Kong: Survival InstinctAccording to Legendary and developer 7Levels, this new Kong game is a “2.5D action-adventure game for PC and consoles.” It takes place shortly after the events of Godzilla and Kong and sees players take on the role of a father searching for his missing daughter while exploring a “shattered city.”

All three Monsterverse games are scheduled to be released before the end of the year. No trailers or screenshots have been released Kong: Survival Instinct, But the developers released a promotional image on Twitter.

“The opportunity to work on the immensely popular Monsterverse IP has been an exciting and formative experience for all of us at 7Levels,” said studio co-founder Paweł Biela. “Not only did we get the chance to showcase some of the fan-favorite Titans from a unique perspective, but we also found committed and supportive partners in the extraordinary people at Legendary.”

So it looks like this game won't have you running around as King Kong or Godzilla, but instead will focus on a human trying to survive a monster attack. Sounds interesting! It definitely sounds like it could be better than the last King Kong game.

Skull Island: Rise of Kong It was released last year to terrible reviews from gamers. It was a disaster with terrible visuals, bad gameplay, and ugly cutscenes.

It should be noted that the people working on this game also have knowledge on this subject. It reportedly received little support from publisher Game Mill and I had to struggle for months The Rise of Kong got out the door on time. Bottom line: A very, very bad game. I hope Legendary gives 7Levels the time and resources they need to make something much better.
