Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Star Wars Outlaws, focusing on the game's post-launch content.
The open-world title, set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, will be released on August 30 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
However, players who purchase the Gold or Ultimate Edition of the game, which includes the Season Pass, will receive up to three days of early access.
Customers who pre-order Star Wars Outlaws will receive the Kessel Runner Bonus Pack, which includes cosmetics for protagonist Kay's speeder and her ship, the Trailblazer.
These will also be available to season pass holders, who will also receive an exclusive mission called “Jabba’s Gambit” at launch.
Story expansions for Star Wars Outlaws, which will be included in the Season Pass and can also be purchased separately, will be released in fall and spring 2025.
In Star Wars Outlaws: Wild Card, according to Ubisoft, protagonist Kay is “hired to infiltrate a high-stakes Sabacc tournament, but when she crosses paths with notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, she soon realizes that a different game is being played here.”
The Hunter's Legacy and Cartel Ronin cosmetic packs will be released alongside the game's first story expansion. These include additional outfits for Kay and Nix, as well as cosmetics for Kay's speeder and ship.
The second story expansion is called Star Wars Outlaws: A Pirate's Fortune. “The Trailblazers' reputation precedes Kay when she meets veteran pirate Hondo Ohnaka, who is out to settle old scores with a ruthless band of pirates,” said Ubisoft.
VGC recently spent four hours with Star Wars Outlaws and from our initial experience, it looks to be a fun, if familiar, adventure.
“Star Wars Outlaws is a lot like The Force Awakens,” we wrote. “It looks like Star Wars, it sounds like Star Wars, and even if you're a moderate fan of the franchise, you'll probably have a lot of fun on this journey. The other side of the coin, however, is that nothing we've played so far feels like it's pushing in a bold new direction.”
