Capcom has released two new weapon overview trailers for Monster Hunter Wilds.
The short gameplay video above shows off the Insect Glaive, while the video below shows off the Heavy Bowgun.
The former is a mobile weapon that players can use while controlling a creature called Kinsect.
Capcom said that Insect Glaive users will be able to gain powerful buffs by collecting extracts from monsters and will be able to jump into the air at will to perform jump attacks.
The heavy bowgun is a long-range weapon with automatic and manual protection functions.
A firing mode allows players to fire special ammunition, which costs energy and is replenished over time and by successfully targeting enemies.
The new videos are the latest in a series of Monster Hunter Wilds overview trailers released by Capcom.
This includes an overview of some basic movement and combat mechanics, including slingshot features and abilities while riding a Seikret, a rideable monster that can automatically guide players to their next destination.
Another video released this week shows off a new mechanic called “Focus Mode,” which allows players to target attacks or defenses. It also highlights enemy wounds that can be targeted for additional damage, as well as any weak spots monsters have exposed.
Each weapon in the game has a unique Focus Strike, a special attack available in Focus Mode. Hitting a monster's wound with a Focus Strike will destroy it, dealing significant damage and stunning the beast.
Monster Hunter Wilds will be released in 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC with crossplay support.
