Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, The most popular game on Nintendo Switchis getting a proper Lego shout-out starting next year. The toy brick company has announced a Super Mario: Mario Kart Lego set series coming in 2025 that will include characters, cars, garages and more.
More than 62 million copies of Nintendo's portable hybrid console have been sold. Mario Kart 8 continues to be a monthly best seller. Card-related intrigue also plays a major role Super Mario Brothers Movie last year and Mario Kart 9Whenever it arrives, it's likely to be one of Nintendo's biggest launches yet, so it's not surprising to see Mario Kart It's the latest in Nintendo's ongoing collaboration with Lego.
The company has announced six so far Super Mario: Mario Kart Lego Sets to be released on January 1, 2025:
- 72031 – Yoshi Bike – $15
- 72032 – Standard Card – $20
- 72033 – Donkey Kong and DK Jumbo – $35
- 72034 – Baby Mario and Baby Luigi – $30
- 72035 – Toad's Garage – $40
- 72036 – Baby Peach and Grand Prix Set – $80
They're all pretty cheap and small, with the entire set currently selling for $220 and around 2,200 pieces. Instead of individual character figures, each racer from Princess Peach to Baby Luigi is built from individual blocks. With over 40 characters Mario Kart 8 alone, there are plenty of additional racers Lego could eventually sell. Bowser is clearly a missing icon from this debut, but I'm personally hoping for Petey Piranha.
It has become Lego branching out into video game series more and more lately, especially Nintendo ones.
