The first cards from the upcoming Pokémon Trading Card Game Paradise Dragona set were demonstrated at the Pokémon World Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii.
As PokeBeach reports, the cards, which are likely to be released in English in November as part of the upcoming Surging Sparks set, include Latias, Latios, Exeggcute and Alolan Exeggutor ex.
The Latias and Latios cards, both rare illustrations, feature interconnected artwork, meaning these cards are likely to be highly sought-after collectibles.
The cards were revealed as part of the 2024 Pokémon World Championships, an event where players from video games, trading card games and Pokémon Go compete for thousands of dollars, often sees future product announcements.
Pokemon Company President Tsunekazu Ishihara announced during Friday's opening ceremony that Sunday's closing ceremony would feature “special news” about the future of the Pokemon video game franchise.
It's unclear if Ishihara was referring to the main game series or Pokémon Go. A recent Pokémon Go update added the framework to introduce Dynamax Pokémon and Gigantimax Pokémon, a mechanic introduced in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.
The next game in the Pokémon series, Pokémon Legends ZA, was announced earlier this year.
The game, which will be the second Pokémon Legends game after Pokémon Legends Arceus, was revealed last month during a Pokémon Presents presentation.
With Pokémon Legends ZA, scheduled for release in 2025, players will be able to revisit the Kalos region and Lumoise City.
