Bandai Namco unveiled a new trailer for Little Nightmares 3 during Gamescom Opening Night Live on Tuesday.
The upcoming sequel will be a cooperative adventure, playable either as a single player with an AI companion or with a friend.
“In the latest trailer, you can see just some of the challenges that await you in Low and Alone and that you will have to overcome,” said Bandai Namco.
“In our first ever online co-op game, two children with different tools must work together to solve the eternal problem of visitors to this enchantingly terrifying nightmare world – staying alive.”
Little Nightmares 3 is scheduled to be released in 2025 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Unlike the first two games in the series, Little Nightmares 3 is not being developed by Tarsier. Instead, it is being developed by Supermassive Games, the studio behind Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures Anthology, and The Quarry.
In February 2021, Tarsier – which was acquired by Embracer Group in 2019 – announced that it would no longer work on the series and would instead focus on a new IP.
Tarsier also presented his new game Reanimal during Gamescom Opening Night Live.
“The creators of Little Nightmares return to take you on a darker, more terrifying journey than ever before,” reads an official description of the game. “In this horror adventure, a brother and sister go through hell to save their missing friends and escape the island they once called home.”
