But it becomes simpler when you realize that most resources are upgraded versions of previously available items from a lower-level area. Take Special Parts, for example. Special Parts are essentially an upgrade from Refined Parts. You need these electronic modules to craft late-game items, but tracking down the right scrap pieces, especially in a dangerous area, presents unique challenges.

Where to Find Custom Parts?
Special Parts don't start dropping from trash items and enemies until you reach level 30+ areas of the game. More specifically, you'll want to farm Red Sands in the north or Chalk HillBoth are dangerous areas, filled with high-level enemies and monsters significantly larger than any you've encountered before, but they're also quite lucrative. What's more, Red Sands is the only area where you can find Gold!
Depending on your level, your best bet is to visit Chalk Peak. It’s a level 32 area and a bit more manageable than Red Sands. Once you’re there, prioritize your loot:
- Beds
- Coffee Machines
- CPUs
- Ovens
- Welding Machines
If you suspect you might be able to find electronic components among old world junk, go get them. Once upon a time a human beingeverything has a use! Bring it back to your base and put it in the Disassembly Bench to earn Special Parts and other important crafting components.
Alternatively, you can sometimes loot Special Parts directly from a chest or container. They're a little rarer to find this way, but they're still entirely viable if you want to investigate the various buildings in Chalk Peak or Blackfell Fallen Zone.

While Chalk Peak is an excellent source of certain rare resources, you should explore the level 40+ areas first to replenish your home supplies. You'll be in and out of Red Sands with ease before long!
